Privacy Policy for CaloxAI
Effective Date: July 5, 2025
This Privacy Policy outlines how CaloxAI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Android application (“App”). Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and we are committed to safeguarding it. By using CaloxAI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
CaloxAI is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect the following types of information:
- Camera and Image Data: To provide the core functionality of our App, we require access to your device’s camera. When you take a photo of your meal, the image is processed to identify food items. These images are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
- Nutritional Data: Based on the food items identified from your images, the App generates nutritional information, including calories, protein, fats, and carbohydrates. This data is also stored locally on your device.
- Usage Statistics: The App locally compiles aggregated, anonymous statistics about your weekly nutrient consumption. This information is for your personal use to track your dietary habits and is not shared with us or any third party.
- In-App Purchase Data: To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases, we use a third-party service, RevenueCat. This service may collect data necessary to process your payments and manage your subscription status. We do not have access to your payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used solely to provide and improve the features of the CaloxAI App:
- Food Recognition: Your meal images are analyzed by Gemini, Google’s AI model, to automatically identify food items and provide you with nutritional data.
- Personalized Tracking: The nutritional data and meal history are used to provide you with detailed statistics and insights into your diet, helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.
- App Functionality: We use the collected data to enable all the features of the App, such as the Smart Food Scanner, macro-focused UI, and weekly nutrient statistics.
- Subscription Management: Information related to your in-app purchases is used to manage your subscription and provide you with access to premium features.
3. Artificial Intelligence (Gemini AI)
CaloxAI utilizes Google’s Gemini AI technology to power its food recognition capabilities. When you snap a picture of your meal, the image data is sent to Google’s servers for analysis. This process is essential for identifying the food items and providing you with accurate nutritional information. We encourage you to review Google’s Privacy Policy to understand how they handle data.
4. Data Storage and Security
We are committed to ensuring the security of your data. All personally identifiable information, including your meal photos and nutritional data, is stored locally on your device. This approach enhances your privacy and the performance of the App. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party service in our App:
- RevenueCat: For managing in-app purchases and subscriptions. We do not share your personal data with RevenueCat, but they may collect information directly from you to process payments. We recommend you review RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. As all your primary data is stored locally, you have full control over it. Anonymized and aggregated data, which cannot be used to identify you, is not considered personally identifiable information.
7. User Rights and Data Control
You have complete control over the data stored by CaloxAI on your device. You can delete your meal history and associated images at any time from within the App, which will permanently remove the data from your device.
8. Children’s Privacy
CaloxAI is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
